Louise came up to Burra for the first in late January and we toured the mine site and associated historical buildings.
Despite the appeal of all the stonework, one of my favourite sights in these parts is the huge wild succulents (Century Plant / Giant Agave) growing in select locations, and nowhere else. They look especially good in the late afternoon. I'm not normally a weed fan, but it would make me a bit sad if these were removed. They look so outlandish that they fit in, somehow.
